Winds at 500 hPa at the 24th hour for World refers to the predicted wind direction and speed at a pressure level of 500 hPa, which is located in the upper troposphere about 5.5 km (18,000 ft) above the Earth’s surface. The winds are presented in knots (kt), and the direction is given in degrees from true north. Winds with magnitude of more than 40 kt are marked in shades of green. It provides important information on forecasting weather patterns, including the movement and intensification of storms, the development of weather fronts, and the location and strength of high and low pressure systems. The depiction also shows the temperature along with the wind barb on the grid points at 500 hPa. Along with the wind speed (kt) and direction, upper air temperatures (Deg C) are also shown at the grid points over the Entire World at 500 hPa level for the next ten days.
